Inspired by: An Education

I finally saw An Education this week and if it's possible to have a mad crush on a film, then I'm definitely crushing. Initially I went for the fashion, and while the costumery is exquisite, the performances are as well. Set in the suburbs of a pre-Beatlemania London, Carey Mulligan is completely charming as a witty, Oxford-bound 16 year old schoolgirl who is introduced to a glamorous world of smoky jazz clubs, art, late-night suppers, and whirlwind jaunts to Paris by a suitor twice her age, perfectly played by Peter Sarsgaard. This could easily be the best film I've seen all year. And if that doesn't sway you, my God, see it for the clothes!!!
