Fortunate Daughter
My mother gave me these gorgeous gold bangles for my birthday. I remember her wearing them often when I was young and when I asked to borrow them recently she gifted them to me instead! They were given to her by my grandmother (her mother-in-law) who bought them for her on a trip to Italy before I was born. My mother wasn't certain of the significance of the medallion, I assumed the blindfolded woman was Justice but a friend of mine (whose mother had the same medallion) thought it might be Fortune. Works for me, I wouldn't mind a little extra fortune in my life! So I turned to the trusty internet for some answers. From what I can gather this seems to be "La Dea Bendata", the blindfolded goddess who does indeed signify Fortune. Thanks for the lucky charm, Mom! (And Nonna!)
