La donna è mobile, qual piuma al vento

I would imagine that a sartorial powerhouse like Anna Dello Russo, whose day-to-day wear is boldly infused with wit, whimsy and genuine pleasure in the spectacle of fashion, would certainly never disappoint at a costume party. So when I saw her blog post (am I the last to know she had one?!) pondering exactly how to bring it to Carine Roitfeld's Eyes Wide Shut-inspired masked ball, I couldn't wait to see what she'd come up with.
Oh, Carine, it's already been broughted.

Confessions of a Zaraphile

Thought I'd snap a few outfit shots on the way to a yummy Indian dinner tonight and also show you all the delicious things we ate. Alas, I only really have one shot, of the skirt I posted about here. Once the wine was opened and that insanely delicious food arrived, all was forgotten. Oh well.

Turns out I'd be naked without Zara! Wearing Zara scarf, sweater, blazer, leather skirt and booties! Is there a 12-step program for this sort of problem?

{masked}

Mmmm... feeling Halloweeny already!

Back in Black

Yeesh. I really should have put a primer on under my make-up. Or at least re-applied. It was the end of the night and I was full of sushi when these photos were taken. I think you can be expecting more outfit posts since both the boyfriend and I are really enjoying playing with this new camera. Posing still makes me feel super awkward though. I just wanted to share a couple of new items I picked up recently. Ah, conspicuous consumption.

I picked up the leather jacket at Topshop in NYC, it has a detachable shearling collar which made it a lot easier to justify the expense (it's like getting two jackets, right? Right?). Oddly I can't find it on the site. The booties took four trips to various Zaras to hunt down but I eventually emerged successful. And the ring! After months of lusting it was waiting for me at the YSL store in New York. A lovely lovely gift from my man.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!xx

The New Black(face)

My blog is my happy place. I post beautiful pictures and images of outfits I wish I was wearing. I pretty much save all my bitterness and sarcasm for those lucky people who know me in the "real world", while you lovely lovelies of the blogosphere get the sunshine-lollipops-and-rainbows Liv. These are all facets of me, of course, they're just generally compartmentalized. All this to say that despite the impression I may give off I am certainly not one of those people who thinks the fashion industry can do no wrong. And more than that I have never been someone who takes any of it too seriously.

But every now and then you just gotta say WTF?!

Have you seen this editoral for Numéro (who I generally adore) with Constance Jablonski playing Foxxy Black Mama Africa or whatever she's supposed to be? Do I just not get the joke? Please someone, enlighten me!

Instant Gratification

...At least for those of us with more than seventeen cents, a loose button and some lint in our pockets (i.e. not me). How crazy is it that Burberry Prorsum's SS2011 collection is already available online? I have just spent obscene amounts of money in my head. Obscene.
