Blogger Lovin': White Jeans

White jeans have been on my shopping list since last Spring, but the perfect pair eludes me. I'm not willing to throw down as much cash as I would on a blue or black pair (my klutzy nature all but ensures that my light-coloured clothes enjoy a shorter lifespan), pockets you can see through the denim just irk me, I need a nice skinny mid-rise (my butt-crack-flashing days are over) either cropped or that can be folded up into a french cuff, which I do with all my skinnies in the summer. White jeans might intimidate some, but they really shouldn't: they can be easily dressed up or down and they're perfectly paired with sweet pastels, flashy brights and the most basic of basic pieces (simple tees, leather jackets, Chucks). Not convinced? Behold, The Great White Hope:

Blogger Lovin': Pocketful of Posies

Floral pants. Until recently the mere idea summoned up hive-inducing flashbacks of my drawstring-waisted floral palazzo pants circa 1993 (paired with a bodysuit and a crocheted vest, naturally). *shudder*.  But the recent crop of botanic-heavy skinnies and slim-cut trousers have me reconsidering, particularly noteworthy is this wallet-friendly pair by H&M. While we've seen lots of floral on floral lately, I prefer them styled as these ladies have: cropped at the ankles with sexy heels and simple tops.

Blogger Lovin': Tuula Vintage

Every once in awhile, a style blogger comes along that makes you want to go all Single White Female and hijack her entire wardrobe (minus the stiletto-heel murder part of course). Truth be told it took me awhile to realize that so many of those inspirational outfit images I'd been pinning like a madwoman were by and large of the same girl. Jessica Stein of Tuula Vintage seems to have single-handedly composed my entire spring shopping list. A Sydney Girl landed in NYC, Jessica projects the very look I wish I could: both sexy and lady-like, at once pulled-together and easy-going (instead of a high-strung, sometimes lazy klutz who is nonetheless, very sexy. Wink, wink). So here are some of my favorite looks, that I hope to be plagiarising this spring and summer:

I love this dress so much I bought it. On sale! Can't wait for it to arrive! Also, must try the wrist cuffs on the ankles thing. And I'm currently on the hunt for the perfect pointy toed heels.

I've generally avoided anything seafoam or minty coloured as I have the impression that I'm pretty green myself in the colder months. May give it a spin this summer. Regardless, an easy tank and skinny jeans in a monochromatic pastel palette paired with simple, sexy sandals and bright nails is a definite do.

My lust for pale pastels continues. I'm hoping to find the perfect nude heels and a non-frumpy maxi skirt. This one is actually a dress worn as a skirt. I love the draping.

Okay, yet another white skirt may not be feasible for a girl destined to spill her coffee on it. But definitely on the spring/summer wishlist: an asymmetrical skirt and a dose of coral.

Flimsy, flowy shorts look awful on me, I need structure. Add to that a lively print in bright colours and you have the perfect weekend/vacation shorts.

And speaking of vacations I have no plans to take, I'm constantly on the look-out for the perfect beach cover-up that can double as a top/dress to take me from the beach to lunch/sightseeing/a bar. This one actually has sleeves to cover up the inevitable sunburn, despite my diligent sunscreen application.

I've been coveting sequined skinny pants for well over a year now. Love them here paired with a simple tee and sexy, pointy toed heels. When it comes to pants like these, less is definitely more.

And there goes my budget! Happy Monday, loves!xx

Blogger Lovin': Winter Layers

I simply cannot have too many coats. Hey, I am Canadian, at least it's a practical addiction. Besides, what's the point of throwing together an incredible outfit and hiding it all under a craptastic topper? On the flipside throwing on the right coat can make me feel put together despite the shlubwear I may be sporting underneath. But since I'm keeping my shopaholic butt out of the shops and avoiding online sales like the plague in hopes of escaping somewhere warm sometime soon I'll just have to keep my sartorial kicks vicarious. Here's some inspiration for you all in the chic bundleage department...

Blogger Lovin': Steal This Look

Usually my Blogger Lovin' posts have a unifying theme.  And I guess in a sense this one does too: awesomeness. Simply a round-up of looks the need to get out of my dreams, and into my closet, like, yesterday.

Blogger Lovin': Flirting with Fall

Shockingly, the fall weather we've been experiencing here in Montreal is still bare-leg appropriate. While it's cooling down as we speak never underestimate the power of sheer denial to keep you warm. With unseasonable warmth, however, comes the feeling of being torn between all the chunky, woolly knits and leather pieces you've just bought/dug out of the bac of the closet that are dying to come out and play and the desire to hold on to summer for as long as possible. I say, why choose? Here's a little inspiration:

The Importance of Being Pantsless

Pants. Who needs 'em? Okay, okay, odds are there is an indecent-exposure-thwarting something-something under these oversized sweaters, wee little shorts perhaps or a suggestion of a skirt, but then again, maybe not. I've been known to rock a dress or two that my friends have would certainly classified in the "sweater" category, so who am I to judge? Besides, it's certainly one way to cope with transitional summer-to-fall weather...

Blogger Lovin': Go Bright or Go Home

I just picked up a magenta croc Rebecca Minkoff bag to give my current murky wardrobe a little boost as we ease into Spring. I'm drooling over all the bright shades reminiscent of sunsets and the sea... can you tell I need a vacation?
