Fit for a Queen

Is it sad weird worrisome that I'm 32 years old and all excited-like for tonight's season finale of Gossip Girl?

Shiny Pretty Things

While last night's Gossip Girl was all about the enemies with benefits, the scenes without Chuck and Blair in them had me mesmerized by Serena's gorgeous earrings. A little digging revealed that they were the Zahav earring by NYC-based jewelry line Double Happiness, available in black, gunmetal (shown), garnet and silver stones:

This cuff caught my eye too, equally awesome in the gold and silver bullet options:

It's Good to be Queen

Ah Monday, time to combat the craptasticness of the work day with my favorite guilty pleasure show! After catching up on last week's Gossip Girl and following it up with this week's episode, I couldn't help but post these. Gorgeous!

The Art of Gossip (Girl)

In a previous post on Marilyn Minter, I mentioned the presence of her gorgeous artwork in Serena's (now Jenny's) bedroom on Gossip Girl. With the character of Serena's mother Lily Bass being an avid art collector the walls of the Gossip Girl sets are covered in gorgeous art pieces. Artist Richard Phillips has not one, but two works you've undoubtedly noticed if you watch the show. His "Spectrum" hangs in the staircase of the Van der Woodsen home, while the cropped version of his "Scout" holds a place of honor over Chuck Bass' bed. Reproductions of these pieces (as well as the Prada Marfa sign also in the Van der Woodsen home) are available via the Art Production Fund, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting contemporary artists and their work.

Liv Loves... Marilyn Minter

All images from Salon 94

I'd been planning to do a post on Marilyn Minter's work so imagine my delight when I saw that MAC was collaborating with the artist for their Fall 09 collection!
I first saw Minter's work in the October 2007 issue of Elle Decor and immediately fell in lust with her gorgeously jarring close-up images of glossy lips, glittering eyelids and stiletto-clad feet stomping around in dirty puddles. Her images are visceral, at once girly and dangerous. I wish Artriver had prints of her work available as I don't imagine I'll be able to afford the real thing any time soon.
Gossip Girl fans may recognize Minter's work in Serena's bedroom. Lucky girl.
